I feel like such an idiot for not taking any pictures of the food and the amazing dessert 😦   But trust me it was to die for.

They are such a beautiful couple, I wish them all the best and I can’t wait for the wedding.

Hey Guys,

I was recently gifted this package of Bielenda beauty cosmetics, it has been about 3 weeks now so I’ve decided to share my opinion with you.

Bielenda Kosmetyki Naturalne is a Polish beauty company that was established in 1990 by Barbara Bielenda ( to find out more check out their website )

The 3 products which I received were from the FACE PROGRAM.

This product is really great. It cleans the excess makeup that is left on my face even after I’ve used my regular makeup remover. I have naturally oily skin, this product has helped reduce this and I’ve noticed that my face is less shiny. Rate: 8.5/10

Like the previous product this product has reduced the oily shine of my skin. I have been using this mask twice a week for the past three weeks and I must say that it is slowly reducing my acne/how often I get acne. Rate: 8/10

I am not very satisfied with this moisturizer, it leaves my face feeling dry and I find that i often have to mix it with another moisturizer. Regardless, it does do it’s job of reducing acne. Rate: 4/10

Thanks for taking the time to read this review, these products are certainly lovely and all have a captivating aroma. I will definitely order more Bielenda products in the near future. Don’t forget to follow me on my other social media ( link in the sidebar) for more regular updates and just to see more of me.

Summer essentials

Summer has finally returned to the Southern Hemisphere(🎉) and although it is as hot as hell I couldn’t be happier. It is super dry and hot where I’m from, so today I am going to share my go to product that make this season a little more bearable. Today’s post consists of hair and skin products that lock in moisture and keep you feeling and looking fresh, along with other products that make summer better… Let’s get to it.

1. HAIR

My hair gets very greasy in summer so I don’t use any products that add too much to this as I constantly have to wash it.

Here are a few products perfect for this season:

1. The leave-in conditioner by Mixed Chicks

This product keeps your hair moisturized while making your curls stand out and is light so you are not adding any extra weight to your hair.

2.Coconut soufflé by Mizani

This product is similar to the leave-in conditioner. It is light, smells great and keeps your hair moisturized and soft.

3. Hair silk by Mixed Chicks

I only use this product after I have washed my hair as it promotes shine. However, it can make your hair greasy so I do recommend using it on washed/wet hair for the best result.

All of the products above can be purchased from retailers in South Africa or online

1.PREP & PRIME by Mac

This product is perfect for setting your make up and preventing that summer glow ( sweat ). It comes for your different skin types too.

2. Intensive care by Vaseline

This product is light and keeps your skin moisturized and glowing.

3. Coconut oil by Lemcke

I know that is says cooking oil on it but it is the perfect sunblock 😅 trust me coconut oil is great for everything.

4. Miracle skin perfector BB cream by Garnier

This product is light and a miracle. It evens out your skin tone making your skin look perfect.

5. Light blue by Dolce & Gabbana

This perfume makes me think of the beach and is light, just what summer should be like.

6. Endless love by Victoria’s Secret

This product is more floral than the first perfume but still remisnds me of summer.

7. Revlon colorburst

This is the perfect gloss nude for summer.

Those are my favourite products for summer, hopefully you guys will try them out. I would also love it if you commented some of your favourite products for me to test out and share them with me on my social media (tagged in the side bar. Travel essentials

Hey guys!! I love to travel, it is the most freeing thing and builds up your knowledge of things on this planet. Today I thought that I would share with you a few things that I cannot travel without, so let’s get straight to it.

1. Some Entertainment

– Of course I need my phone with me 24/7. I usually use it to play games & take pictures or videos of my journey as a way of keeping myself entertained. iPhone 5s from Apple.

– My iPod, which is full of music. Music has always been in my life & keeps me calm, I could literally fall asleep listening to music. It’s also a way to block out your surroundings.

– My  instax mini 8 by Fuji film. I carry this with me just to take more pictures during the journey & at my destination. ( I also have a photo wall in my room, so I’m always trying to add to it ).

a portable charger,  there is nothing worse than having your phone or iPod die on you, so to avoid this from happening I recommend that you invest in one of these, they come in a wide variety of colours, shapes and sizes. Mine is a simple one by Apple and is available in all Apple Stores.

I’ve read It by Alexa Chung like a million times, it’s my ultimate favourite so I always have it in my travel bag. This book is no longer available in Exclusive Books but you can order it through them.

A notebook to jot down ideas. I’ve always kept a journal of my travels, so I always have a little journal with me. I got this little journal at The Farmers market at Bull-n-Bush.

2. Keeping comfy/warm

The weather is unpredictable, so it’s always important to be prepared for anything. I always carry a jumper or cardigan with me just in case.

The zebra print scarf is from Woolworths & the jumper is from Primark

3. A bag that will be able to carry all of your essentials & keep you looking stylish.

This brown leather tote is from Woolworths

4. Snacks

I didn’t take any pictures of the snacks that I usually take with me, but I always have a packet of sweets in my travel bag & spare change to buy more :). Ok for real though, when I travel by car I usually make myself some sandwiches to carry with me as a snack along with a few bottles of water & a variety of juices.

4 turban tutorials

I’m always looking for different ways to tie my turban. My Sudanese roots from my dads side inspired me to get into turbans. Ever since my dad taught me how to tie a traditional turban I’ve been hooked on to them. I have about 10 different ways that I tie my turban, but I thought that I’ll show you the 4 easiest. I’ll do the rest for my next post HIJAB IDEAS FOR EID.

1. Peek- a-boo turban

you need 2 scarfs, 1 colourful & 1 plain.

  1. Tie the colourful scarf on your head & then tie the plain one over it.
  2. Bring the two sides over your head. One with the plain side on top & the other with the colourful side on top.
  3. Secure by tying at the back and tuck in the little end pieces.

2. Twisted turban

again you’ll need 2 scarfs of your choice.

  1. Tie the scarfs on your head, one on top of the other.
  2. Twist the ends of the scarfs together.
  3. Bring the two ends over your head and secure by tucking at the back.

3. Basic turban

  1. You just need 1 scarf. Tie it on your head and bring the 2 sides over.
  2. Loop one of the sides around the other.
  3. Tie it at the back to secure it and tuck in the ends.

4. Twist back turban

  1. Tie two scarfs on your head, one on top of the other.
  2. Pull the two ends up and twist them together.
  3. Secure it at the back by tucking it in.

The scarfs are from:

Zebra print : Woolworths

Pink, black & beige : market in Mauritius

Blue print : Woolworths

That’s all for today. I hope that I’ve inspired some of you to try theses out, if I have please make sure to tag me in your posts, so I can see you flex.  { my social media is in the side bar } xx Suraya

  2. Crush the biscuits and mix the crumbs with the butter; press firmly onto the base of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Then refrigerate until it hardens.
  3. Beat the cream cheese, condensed milk, flour and lemon juice; mix on medium speed until well blended.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition just until blended.
  5. Pour over crust/ base.
  6. Bake for 55 minutes to an hour until centre is almost set.
  7. Run a knife or metal spatula around the rim of the pan to loosen the cake; cool before removing rim of pan.
